Development Of Technology And Its Effect On Society

Many people are familiar with technology and how it can be used for everything, including transport, payment of bills, and communication with others. The 21st-century has witnessed the world become increasingly globalized. Although technology is a key component of modern society, it has a detrimental impact on people’s ability to communicate more easily. Australian society is one among the nations that use technology for everything. Australian Bureau Statistics reported that 14.7 million people were internet subscribers as of June 2018. This number has increased by 3.6% to December 2018. International Institute for Management is supporting this as Australia is 15th in the world for digital competability. This is a testament to the fact that technology has changed over time since the advent of the industrial revolution. It has helped people to live better and be more connected to others. Because technology helps create the future of education and medicine, it has been a constant part of everyday life.

The Industrial Revolution was a worldwide event. It has occurred in every area of the globe, with very few exceptions. This led to many technological innovations that were developed to enhance people’s ability to work, resulting in economic growth of the government. Alexander Graham Bell’s 1875 invention of the telephone was the first technological breakthrough that had a significant impact on human communication. Although the Industrial Revolution of 18th century was a period of growth, most historians refer to this period as “The First Industrial Revolution” (Allen 2009). This is consistent with Robert Buchanan’s source, a professor of History of Technology. He states that rationalization of production was a result of using new techniques that have been part of technological evolution since 1900. Both sources confirm the idea that the Industrial Revolution was essential for today’s technological advancement. Many people around the world appreciate the benefits of industrialization’s innovations like mobile phones and internet. John S. Knight, historian author, says that gadgets invariably become symbols of civic ambitions. These devices allow us to connect with others and make a difference. Karehka Rajey, a professor in a university, says this is supported. She believes that the greatest challenge facing people is to identify what kind and how they want it to be. This is a way of showing that technology changes and influences the future of society. Australia is known for its ability to adopt new technologies faster than other countries. With one of the largest Internet access prices in the globe, it joined the fresh millennium.Technologies are very important to the society today because everything involves technologies like computers, phones and smart watch. Technology has had a profound impact on society, allowing for improved transportation, communication, and automated agriculture (Ramey 2012). Technology is also a key factor in today’s success. Today’s generation has the ability to travel, connect with other people, and cure many illnesses. Australia’s technological development has seen many significant outcomes due to the contributions of scientists and researchers. It has improved design and innovation, enabled many companies to make changes to their facilities and helped to increase the product’s value. Technology has advanced and countries like Australia are experimenting with new technologies that they can use in the future. Technology has brought people closer together, and enabled them to exchange ideas to develop better solutions for any issue. Hemangi Hrankhedkar, an author of a book, stated that technological advances have resulted in the creation of faster and more effective modes of transportation and communication. This means that technology has made communication easier than ever and better than it was in the past century. But technology did not just improve communication but also made it easier to advance in agriculture, leading to increased food production. Wood, 2010. Technology has helped increase food production, thus, it has a large impact on government and society. The increased use of technology has led to studies in genetic and extra-terrestrial areas. A$2.9 billion was also spent on research through the Backing Australia Ability initiative to finance studies to encourage science and financial innovation. Australia is exploring new technologies and pursuing projects to make them more useful. The internet has enabled everyone to exchange ideas, data and information with others around the world. This will make a significant difference in the future (Aginginplace.org). Robert Buchanan says that despite the great achievements in technology, the following decades saw greater progress across a broad range of activities over the entire history of the world. It is the same message as the earlier centuries, indicating that technology today is well-known. While technology has many positive effects, it can also have negative consequences for the younger generation. Technology can have negative effects on society, including resource depletion and an increase in population. It also affects people’s behavior and attitudes. Karehka Ramey claims that bad technology implementation has resulted not only in environmental pollution but also has threatened our lives as a community (2012). While technology is not harmful by itself, the way society uses it to achieve certain goals has negative consequences for society. People who spend their entire day on computers these days will not be able create their own meals as well as those who are unable to resist the temptations of technology. This is the new reality of modern life. People are less productive than ever before. Although the lives of the common man were not as comfortable as they are today, they were more active. Manali Oak, a modern historian says that the internet has encouraged many unethical practices like spamming, hacking, and phishing. Internet crime is rising and open platforms lack regulation. This is a trustworthy source as many teens are subject to cyber bullying. Australia has created CERT Australia, the national computer emergency response team. It’s the government’s single contact for any cyber security issues that may affect major Australian businesses. These kinds of actions show how technology impacts people’s daily lives. Technology has another negative effect on children. They spend most of their time online and very little time outside. Social media is a popular place for young people to spend their time, and they miss the joy of having real friends. This is also a sign that young people have become dependent upon the internet and smartphones, which has resulted in anxiety disorders. Hemangi Hrankhedkar says that technological means also affect non-verbal communication. Face-to-face interactions have reduced individuals’ non-verbal grasping abilities. This shows the differences between the last century and our society today. The modern technology has made it possible for people to connect online. This means that there is less social interaction between people these days. The 21st century is full of technology that has both positive and detrimental effects on society. People had the opportunity to communicate with each other without technology, unlike 20 years ago. Today, they can use dictionaries, write letters by hand, and even play outside games. Technology has made life simpler and more enjoyable. Rapidly improving technology has given rise to innovation in various areas and improved human lives. Because technology is constantly interdependent with society, technology has greatly influenced all aspects of life.
