The Internet of Everything is a set of interconnected devices. It allows two or more devices to communicate over a network and connect without the need for human to computer/human to machine interaction. One example of the internet’s things is a Smart fridge. It connects to your mobile phone and will notify you when you run low on that item. A factory machine that alerts you when there is a problem, and offers different solutions. Although the IoE might seem to be a huge benefit for the world, it is actually quite scary. The world already has more connected objects than people. Gartner estimates that there are approximately 8. Analyst Gartner estimates that around 8. 4 billion in 2020. IoT devices/services accounted for almost $2tn of total spending in 2017, with the majority of devices located in China.

Physical ObjectsThere is a wide variety of physical objects included in the IoE. There are many uses for smart lamp posts. These lamp posts have Wi-Fi networks that allow nearby devices to connect to internet when they’re not there, thus reducing data usage. You can also use the security cameras to identify criminals and notify police when they are. It will notify local police stations with information on whereabouts of the suspect to help them find them. They can also monitor traffic collisions and speed of cars. The real-time GPS data from the lamp posts allows for the analysis of journey times as well as determining if there are alternative routes. [image: Image result drones iot]Drones can also be considered physical objects within the IoE. They are constantly expanding their capabilities. At the moment they are being developed to deliver parcels to customers’ doorsteps and provide internet access for disaster surveillance and assistance.

Drones have a high dependency on antennas, sensors and embedded software for two-way communication. A customer can order a product online from Amazon. The details of their address and order are sent to the drone. It will use built-in GPS to locate the product. The customer will then receive an email notification on their mobile device letting them know that the parcel is being dispatched as well as when it has arrived.

Experiential InteractionsImage result for telemedicine]Telemedicine technology (TT) uses sensors to monitor patients and being able to give them real-time updates. TT has evolved from providing information that can save lives to improving people’s lifestyles. The internet allows patients to access their health information, which can improve medical services. It allows doctors and nurses to communicate via the internet. The quality of primary healthcare workers’ continuing education will be improved by telemedicine technology.

A second example is developing RFID-enabled devices that can support older adults so they can remain independent. Researchers used RFID to detect and monitor individuals’ activities. This can be useful for both routine and emergency care, as well as in case of an accident. This application is extremely versatile and has a lot of potential.

Aids to PeopleImage result RxPense is the only personal use, commercial/enterprise dispenser for blister pre-packaged medications specifically designed for seniors and chronic illness patients consuming up to medications per dose. Once your doctor has certified the device to mass package medications (two weeks), the robot opens each dose and delivers it to the patient. To properly self-program, the RxPense can connect to the pharmacy. The RxPense’s physical security is strong enough to prevent abuse, theft and overdose.

RxPense’s unique, random-access robotic mechanism allows it to skip doses. This prevents overdosing and keeps the initial medication secure until refill time. RxPense, which is multilingual, allows all users — patient and caregiver alike — to select the language they prefer to use. PIN/Password, RFID/Bracelet/Voice provide security. RxPense can only produce images, information and documented dispensing. Each account has its own security permissions. This applies to patients, caregivers, and other licensed users.

Smart doorbells can also be an example. They are mounted near the door to track human activity. A buzzer that detects movement can be activated to turn the doorbell on or off automatically. The human activity activates the camera and streams live video to it. An android app will authenticate the user’s entry. The servomotors can then respond to the request and unlock the door. Data regarding this could be sent directly to the cloud for storage or analysis.

Aids to society/communitySmart cities use IoE devices like connected lights, sensors and metres to gather and analyse data. These data can then help improve infrastructure, public services and utilities. IoE technology is being used in infrastructure by building managers to cut costs and improve buildings. A ShotSpotter device can be integrated into lamp posts to detect gunshots.

This is a useful feature because it doesn’t require any other citizen to get involved. You can also find information at digital kiosks about restaurants, shops and other nearby events. Visitors can use it to find information about nearby stores, restaurants and events. It can also sync with their phones so they can follow you around. Smart transportation initiatives have been implemented in many cities to improve public transport routes, reduce infrastructure costs, increase safety, and ease congestion as more people move into cities. Smart public transport is a great benefit for society. It will improve emergency services and save lives. New public transport will include sensors that can be connected to other devices at stations so it can be notified of any technical faults.

The future of cars is changing rapidly with the introduction of new vehicles. Smart cars have communication sensors that communicate with each other while they are on roads. This allows them to know their position on the roads and helps reduce congestion. Parking sensors are also available, making it quicker and easier to park. This could reduce fuel consumption. The sensors can be used to find parking spots in different areas. They will send you a notification on your smartphone with directions to the closest one. This allows drivers to verify availability ahead of time. Smart cars can be programmed to automatically drive, which reduces collisions due to human errors and makes roads safer.

There are many examples IoE within manufacturing. This will allow a company to assess their performance and identify areas for improvement. Another option is to use temperature, humidity and vibration sensors to predict failures and create a plan for their repair. Any equipment problem will be reported to workers via another device.
