Essays On Teenage Pregnancy For Students And Kids In English

The term “teenage pregnancy” refers to the pregnancy of a woman under twenty-five years old. Teenagers range from the ages 13 to 20. Teenagers, while not being considered to be children, aren’t actually adults. This makes them more vulnerable. Teenagers begin to be curious about their bodies, and this is a sign of sexual maturation. They are unaware of the dangers of sex and eventually become teenage parents.

These pregnancies are usually unplanned and minors may not be ready to take on the parental responsibilities. Globally, teenage pregnancy rates are high. Most cases are reported from America, Africa and the United Kingdom. Asian rates are relatively lower. It has been shown that teenagers in developing countries have a higher rate of pregnancy than those in developed countries. Also, cases in rural areas are more common than those in urban areas. Teenage pregnancies are largely influenced by the socio-economic backgrounds of teens. Teenage pregnancies are most common among teenagers who have had little to no sexual education.

Another reason could be sex taboo. Many parents are conservative and teachers at schools won’t have sexual conversations. Teenagers are often deprived of basic information about safe and acceptable sex practices. Teenagers often turn to their peers for help because they lack the resources to understand sexual awareness. Teenagers don’t understand sexual intercourse or contraceptives. An American study found that 53% of teenagers don’t have any information about sexual intercourse or contraceptives. Teenagers don’t have the moral perspective to avoid engaging in inappropriate sexual activities. The media glorifies sex, which is why they are often drawn to it. Teenage pregnancies are also a result of teens taking part in illegal drug and alcohol abuse. Many teenagers seek approval from their peers and drink to get drunk, which leads them to lose their senses. This can lead them eventually to engage in unsafe sex.

Rising teenage pregnancies in developing countries is a result of the sexual abuse of girls underage from low-income backgrounds. These girls come from low-income backgrounds and are forced to sex trade in order to support their families. They are also exploited as a result. Most developing countries do not have a standard age for girls to marry.

While most teenage pregnancies take place in developed nations, they are more common in developing countries. The teenagers’ mothers may be socially excluded and marginalized. Many times, they are forced to leave school and must work low-paid jobs to support their child. Children from poor families often end up engaging in drug and criminal activity, adding to poverty and social problems. In short, teenage pregnancies can have a huge impact on society.
